Question: What is a dongle?
Answer: A dongle is a hardware that serves as a copy protection for software. The copy-protected software is only functional in connection with the dongle. It is connected to the USB port (formerly parallel port) of your computer.

It usually has no influence on the remaining software and hardware of your computer.
